This quilt is made with fat quarters so you get a better variety of prints. I have used batiks, but any print would work. 
Suprisingly, you don't make a star block. The stars are fomred when you put the blocks. This distributes the print fabrics for a very desirable scrappy look. A border block is added to the end of each row to complete the stars.

*it would be a good idea to buy one more FQ for each as there is not much room for error in cutting
